Formulations Operator

Location: Tampa, FL

Work Schedule: M-F, 07:00 AM – 03:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch + two 15-minute paid breaks)

Job Summary

Trademark Nitrogen Corp is seeking a skilled Formulations Operator to join our chemical manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately preparing and processing chemical formulations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and efficient production processes.​

Key Responsibilities

Formulation & Processing

  • Accurately measure and mix chemical ingredients following detailed formulation guidelines.​
  • Operate and monitor equipment such as mixers, blenders, reactors, to ensure optimal production.​​
  • Adjust processing machines and equipment as necessary to maintain product quality and consistency.​​
  • Conduct routine sampling and testing of products to verify compliance with quality standards.​​

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate production machinery, ensuring all equipment functions correctly and safely.​​
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment to prevent contamination and ensure longevity.​​
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs as needed.​​​

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain high-quality production standards.​​
  • Document all batch records, production data, and any deviations accurately and promptly.​​
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues or improvements.​

Material Handling & Inventory

  • Receive, label, and store raw materials in compliance with safety and organizational standards.​​
  • Manage the transfer of materials between tanks, drums, and other containers using ​appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies.​

Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Strictly follow all safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and handling of hazardous materials.​​
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of hazardous waste and coordinate disposal in compliance with environmental regulations.​​
  • Participate in safety drills and contribute to a culture of continuous safety improvement.​

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in Chemistry or a related field is preferred.​
  • 1-3 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar environment.​
  • Proficiency in operating chemical processing equipment and understanding of chemical processes.​
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.​
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.​
  • Basic computer proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) with an ability to learn other computer-based systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime, including evenings or weekends, depending on business needs.
  • This position requires accurate color perception to perform tasks such as titration to a color endpoint, reading color-coded indicators, and distinguishing safety labels

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to chemical manufacturing settings, which may include handling hazardous materials and operating heavy machinery.
  • Requirement to wear appropriate PPE, including gloves, masks, and safety glasses.​
  • Must be able to carry, pull and push equipment, materials and other required items up to 50 pounds in weight.
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round, stand for extended period, climb multiple types of ladders.
