A Berry Sweet Tradition: Celebrating Teamwork with Florida’s Finest Strawberries

Every year, TradeMark Nitrogen staff looks forward to a special treat from Berry Barn, located at 3931 State Road 60, Dover, FL or from Parksdale located at 3702 W Baker St, Plant City, FL. This beloved tradition involves treating the team to delicious strawberry shakes or strawberry shortcake as a reward for their hard work and collaboration on that day.

Florida is renowned for its vibrant strawberry season, which typically runs from late November through April. The peak harvest period occurs in February and March, when the strawberries are at their freshest and sweetest. This unique timing allows Florida to provide fresh, locally grown strawberries during the winter months, a time when many other regions cannot produce the fruit. The state’s cooler, but not freezing, temperatures create the perfect conditions for strawberries to flourish. Farmers begin planting the crops in September, with harvesting commencing 90 to 110 days later, depending on the specific variety and weather conditions.

This dedication to timing and care has made the region around Plant City, Florida—where approximately 14,000 acres are planted—a hub for strawberry production. Our visit to the Berry Barn or Parksdale not only celebrates Florida’s iconic strawberry season but also reinforces the value of teamwork and community within our organization. It’s a sweet reminder of the hard work and dedication that make success possible—both on the farm and at work.
